CONTINUATION OF THE MORALITY AND RELATIONSHIP TOPIC, “STAYING PURE IN A SEX-CRAZED CULTURE” with J-I, Belinda and St. James.

The last time, we treated the approach of “paying attention to how you dress” to staying pure in this sex-crazed world. Today, we will be discussing two more approaches – (1) Be careful what you watch and (2) Set limits in relationships. In my next post (few days from now), we must have finished this topical issue which has been in series, before starting another very striking and important morality and relationship topic which I believe you can not afford to miss.   

• BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WATCH: Living a pure lifestyle also means guarding our minds and hearts, St James says. We do this by closely monitoring the things that we watch and listen to. Watching moves that have steamy love scenes or listening to music with questionable lyrics can desensitize us and make immoral things seem “not so bad”. Belinda speaks, “all of us are really impacted by what we see and what we listen to, so keeping those standards high is really important”. Spending daily time in God’s word is so important. As we seek to fill our minds with what God says about these issues, we will be more likely to live out those principles.  Be very selective of what you watch on screen, as they may be what will make you deviate from the path to success in life and marriage and staying pure of immorality, J-I concludes.
• SET LIMITS IN RELATIONSHIPS: When you are in a dating relationship, discuss with your significant other what is appropriate and what is off-limits. St. James speaks bluntly, “I am pretty boundaried when I am in a relationship”. “My boyfriend and I would talk about things like keeping a shoe in the door, or not being in a room alone at night. We would just make sure somebody can walk in at any point and that we are accountable there”. J-I concludes, I think this is so important in a relationship, that is setting limits to what we discuss and how we relate before marriage.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are not done yet, make it a date in few days as we talk on “have someone hold accountable” and “pursue a vibrant relationship with God”, the last two approach to saying pure in a sex-crazed culture.
