We have been talking about what husbands want from their wives after talking about the reverse for several weeks. Today we will be talking about, “expression of maturity and understanding”.
EXPRESSION OF MATURITY AND UNDERSTADING: Husbands want their wives to express maturity and understanding at all times, this is so important for every woman to do. Expression of maturity could be in times of minor issues like financial limitation, improper attitude of the husband and some other imperfections done by the husband. Understanding is a very important factor to the success of any marriage as no marriage can be without flaws or imperfections. We as humans have a bundle of flaws in our day to day life. Understand your husband’s weaknesses and mange them wisely. For example, you don’t have to shout on your husband publicly before correcting him of any imperfection, you can assist your husband in times of financial difficulty on his side, you can help in cutting down the cost of running the home in times of inflation; these and many more ways you can use to express maturity and understanding to your husband.

THE TOPIC: KEEPING INTIMATE RELATIONSHIPS ALIVE, CONTINUES TODAY. WITH TUSSY AFAM-OBI, A RELATIONSHIP EXPERT.
The introduction started in the last post and we talked about some habits a couple should develop for a successful marriage. Now let’s continue with a new subject habit, “create love and friendship rituals.”
CREATE LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP RITUALS: We fall in love through rituals of connection and intimacy such as romantic dinners, long conversations, going for walks, exchanging gifts, talking every night on the telephone, etc. When we fall in love, our relationship becomes the centre point of our life, with anything else becoming secondary. Over time, when the relationship becomes more settled (particularly after we have children), this process reverses.
The children, our work, our hobbies, our friends, take the centre stage and the relationship being relegated to the background tending only to receive our attention in times of crisis. The remedy to routine (the main cause of dull relationships) is connection and intimacy rituals. For example, every Saturday evening as a changeover from the working week into the weekend, take two hours together when you put a “do not disturb” sign on your busy life. No phones, no answered doors, no emails, no TV, nothing… Just the two of you and your relationship. Do what you will with the time, however it must be an investment in your relationship.
