It has been a wonderful time receiving your response across the globe on the opinion poll question, can distance friendship/relationship be sustained? The statistical ratio of the ‘it cans’ to the ‘it can nots’ and the indifferent is 20:4:1 and this statistics shows a wide variation between those who believe it is possible and those who don’t think so. I am quite impressed with your responses. Two months ago, I told you my opinion about this hot topic as I said distance friendship/relationship between a mate can be sustained. Let me finally give you details of my opinion in a two post series as I unveil series one.
This is a relationship based issue here and we understand it is between two opposite gender. There are key facts we must understand when talking about distance relationship or friendship.
· How intimate are you with each other? The more intimate you are, the better and more possible you can sustain your friendship/relationship.
· How well do you understand and trust each other? This is similar to the first question. Understanding and trust comes when there is intimacy.
· How often do you stay in touch? No matter how intimate you are, staying in touch (either by calls, text messages, social networking and possibly physical contact at least once in a long while, etc) is key sustaining distance relationship or friendship.
· What is the ultimate purpose of your friendship or relationship? This is the most important question here today. You must understand why you are both friends, you must understand why you are in a relationship if already at that stage. If you can not provide answers to this question, then your friendship or relationship could be in danger of collapse. This is one reason heartbreak exist. DID YOU KNOW? From the early 1920s through the early 1980s, broadcasting was the only effective means of delivering television and radio programming to the general public. However, functions once exclusive to broadcasting are now shared in industrially advanced societies by two other means of mass communication: (1) cable television and radio systems, such as commercial cable services, pay-per-view channels, and modem-accessible databases, which transmit sounds and images to paid subscribers rather than to the general public; and (2) self-programmable systems, such as the videocassette recorder (VCR), digital video disc (DVD), video game, and digital recording technology, which allow the user more control over content and scheduling. Despite these innovations, in the first years of the 21st century broadcasting remained the single most important component of mass communication, even in countries where the newer systems are available and growing.
