JOSHUA OSAGIE OSAYUWAMEN WRITES ON “NEW YEAR WELCOME ARTICLE  - SEVRAL WAYS TO MAKE 2013 WORTHWHILE FOR YOURSELF”

Joshua (Your Host Blogger)

Before I proceed any further, I would like to wish every guest of this blog (including first timers) a prolific new year. May God bless the work of your hand this year. Welcome to 2013!
It’s a priviledge to be in a new year with new challenges and opportunities, many people lost their lives in 2012 but you reading this article is very much alive and you have every reason to thank God for the gift of life. Yeah! Life is a gift from God.
I got inspired and thought of several ways you can make this year fruitful and worthwhile for yourself.
1)       Leave behind the failures of 2012, think less of them and concentrate more on correcting them.
2)     Never doubt your abilities. Remain determined and even more.
3)     Stay focused and believe in yourself.
4)     Hold on to your dreams and vision for though some may tarry but your tenacity will go a long way to achieving them.
5)     Do not regret your lapses and unattained goals/heights in 2012, rather think of ways to correct them at the earliest opportunity in 2013 and make amends where necessary.
6)     Keep your hopes alive and keep believing in God because he has given you another chance to make up for so many things and be more impactful in 2013.
7)     Forgive those who offended you in 2012 and avoid circumstances that led to their encounter with you. Be wise in the way you would be dealing with them in 2013.
8)     Make sure you are getting better by the day with positive thoughts and commitments.

COUNT YOURSELF BLESSED FOR MAKING IT TO 2013. I AM SURE YOU ARE BETTER OFF BY NOW COMPARED TO THIS SAME TIME LAST YEAR. I AM, OF COURSE IN EVERY SENSE (FULFILLMENT, GOALS, POTENTIALS, ACHIEVEMENTS AND MANY MORE).

THIS IS WISHING YOU A PROSPEROUS 2013 AHEAD. GOD BLESS YOU AND DON’T FORGET TO MAKE GOD YOUR NUMBER ONE, FOR WITHOUT HIM YOU CAN’T GET THERE. MY HUMBLE PRAYER FOR YOU IS THAT BY THIS TIME NEXT YEAR YOU WILL BE ALIVE TO CELEBRATE A BETTER YOU AND IN HEALTH AND STRENGTH. IN JESUS NAME. AMEN.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

>>ORBIT FEATURE 4> LANDMARK DISCOVERIES: INVENTION OF BASKETBALL  BY JAMES NAISMITH.

James Naismith (1861-1939), Canadian-American teacher of physical education, recognized as the inventor of the sport of basketball. He was born in Almonte, Ontario, Canada, and educated at McGill University and Presbyterian College in Montréal. He taught physical education from 1887 to 1890 at McGill University, and from 1890 to 1895 at the Young Men's Christian Association Training School (now Springfield College) in Springfield, Massachusetts.

In 1891, aided by the American physical-education specialist Luther Halsey Gulick, he invented basketball as an indoor sport. Naismith developed the game as an activity for his students during the harsh winter months. He was director of physical education at the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) in Denver (1895-1898) and at the University of Kansas (1898-1937).

As one of the most significant contributors to the sport of basketball, Naismith was voted to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1959. Officially called the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame, the institution was named in his honor and is located in Springfield.
