Hello
blog guests, let me formally notify you that this post makes it exactly three
years of creation of this blog and I am delighted to also inform you that it is
my 67th post termed WORDS ON MARBLE 67. We are in the second post of
the new series titled “setting goals and achieving them,” the subtitle is “unique
goal setting rules beyond the s-m-a-r-t five golden rules.” You will recall and
concur with me that the s-m-a-r-t rules were elucidated in my last post with
the acronym given: specific-measurable-attainable-relevant-time bound. The five
golden rules are proven and so crucial to successful attainment of goals.
However, like I stated in my last post, by inspiration I will be giving more
extra pizzazz (pep) and time proven unique goal setting rules that can take us
to successful accomplishment in record time.
EXTRA UNIQUE GOAL SETTING RULES FOR
SUCCESSFUL ATTAINMENT (part 1 with Joshua - Two rules today)
Ladies
and gentlemen I am inspired to give the extra pep the smart goals may not have
for successful and quicker accomplishment in the success pathway. I have tested
these and by the grace of God, I have proven results to give by illustrations
and experience of others who have lots of proof to show.
LIBERATE
YOURSELF FROM DOUBTS, FOCUS ON GOD AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
Guests, one great weakness that is a very easy license to
failure is doubt and inferiority complex. In setting giant or small goals, you
have got to think positively and talk positively, this will psychologically
propel you into taking giant actions in your success pathway. When you think
and talk negatively, your subconscious mind submits to failure and your goals
may end in jeopardy in a short time. Some of the self demeaning clause below
have destroyed many people’s goals, dreams and visions:
1)
Life is so difficult
2)
I don’t think I can
3)
Am I worth it?
4)
The world is always against me
5)
Life is so unfair and difficult
6)
I don’t think I am good enough for that
The negative thoughts and words above plus many others are
capable of jeopardizing one’s goals and throwing one into self imposed
frustration in life. We can easily remove doubts from ourselves when we bring
God into the picture. Like I always say to people, “life should be first things
first,” make God your first in everything you are involved in, believe in
yourself, think and talk positively and get going with the action to success.
Goal setting requires self motivation, God remains the ultimate
motivation and you have a lot to do on yourself in taking positive actions to
successful attainment. Your words can make or mar you, your thoughts can do the
same, your license to successful goal accomplishment is strongly hinged on the
content of your thoughts, words and actions. If you think you can or think you can’t,
you are probably right; think positively; speak positively, act positively and
you will be in the right direction. I have spoken so many words in the past to
myself, I am still doing so and will keep thinking, speaking and acting
positively to the future goals. By the grace of God, it has worked for me thus far
and is still working. You can not relax back when you think and speak, action
should follow, your vitality increases when you get yourself into habitual
positive thoughts and words. Never underestimate your ability, you can start
from somewhere. Liberate yourself from doubts and get going by making God your
first focus in prayers and meditation of his word.
LEARN FROM
SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE
I am still very much utilizing this important rule
in my goal setting pathway in life and I seriously recommend this rule to
everyone. A famous Chinese proverb is quoted thus: “if you seek to know the
road ahead, inquire of those who have traveled it.” This is absolutely true and
make successful goal attainment easier and quicker. If you can learn from
people who have achieved what you are trying to do or want to do, follow the
same steps with keen vision and not blindly, then your pathway to success can
be eased to a large extent. I am not saying that you should copy negative
procedures, integrity must remain your focus and essence of your actions.
Furthermore, you may not necessarily need to take exact steps and actions to successful attainment, you could even achieve yours more efficiently, much faster and with a better result when you learn the ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ based on the experience of successful people. Never follow successful people blindly, open up your mind, visualize their work and a better perspective can be figured out to your success. Learning from successful people could also save you the stress of starting from the scratch, you could even end up improving on how to start from the scratch, by that you can do yours better, quicker or easier. Yet again, you need God for clearer focus in learning from people.
Action! Action!! Action!!! Get going and see you in my next post for more inspired goal setting rules. It’s me Joshua once again wishing you all the best in your goals, dreams and vision. Do have yourself a splendid time all day and night. See you in few days (by the first week of September). God bless you.

LANDMARK DISCOVERY
HOW THE GAME OF BASKETBALL CAME ABOUT
James
Naismith (1861-1939), Canadian-American teacher of physical education,
recognized as the inventor of the sport of basketball. He was born in Almonte,
Ontario, Canada, and educated at McGill University and Presbyterian College in
Montréal. He taught physical education from 1887 to 1890 at McGill University,
and from 1890 to 1895 at the Young Men's Christian Association Training School
(now Springfield College) in Springfield, Massachusetts.
In
1891, aided by the American physical-education specialist Luther Halsey Gulick,
he invented basketball as an indoor sport. Naismith developed the game as an
activity for his students during the harsh winter months. He was director of
physical education at the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) in Denver
(1895-1898) and at the University of Kansas (1898-1937). As one of the most
significant contributors to the sport of basketball, Naismith was voted to the
Basketball Hall of Fame in 1959. Officially called the Naismith Memorial Hall
of Fame, the institution was named in his honor and is located in Springfield.
